本周我们学习和塑料相关的词汇
1. disposable /d?'sp??z?b(?)l/
adj. 用后即可丢弃的; 一次性的
e.g. Many people still rely on disposable cups and cutlery because they are convenient, but they create a lot of plastic waste.
e.g. I prefer to bring my own water bottle instead of buying disposable plastic bottles.
补充：cutlery 餐具
synonym: single-use 一次性使用的
e.g. Single-use plastics, such as straws and plastic bags, are a major cause of marine pollution.
e.g. I always carry a cloth bag with me to avoid using single-use plastic bags at supermarkets.
n. 一次性用品[通常用复数]
e.g. I’m trying to cut down on disposables and switch to reusable products.
补充：reusable adj. 可反复利用的
2. biodegradable /?ba??(?)d?'gre?d?b(?)l/
adj. 可生物降解的
搭配：biodegradable packaging/ plastic/materials 可降解包装/塑料/材料
e.g. I always prefer biodegradable packaging because it’s safer for the environment.
e.g. More and more supermarkets are replacing plastic bags with biodegradable ones.
antonym: non-biodegradable 不可生物讲解的
e.g. Plastic bottles are non-biodegradable, which means they can remain in the environment for hundreds of years.
e.g. Non-biodegradable waste is a major threat to wildlife because animals may ingest it.
补充：ingest v.吸收，咽下（食物等）
3. intelligent /?n'tel?d?(?)nt/
adj. 有才智的；悟性强的
e.g. People who are highly intelligent are not always good team workers.
e.g. He was a well-educated and intelligent man with a sharp sense of humor.
intelligence n. [不可数名词]智力;智能；
搭配：a person of normal/ high/ low intelligence
e.g. She has exceptional intelligence and learns things very quickly.
e.g. The forms should be able to be understood by a person of average intelligence.
搭配：emotional intelligence 情商
e.g. Emotional intelligence is just as important as IQ in the workplace.
e.g. People with high emotional intelligence tend to handle stress better.
4. wrapper /'r?p?/
n. 包装材料；包装纸
搭配补充：peel off / throw away the wrapper 撕掉/丢掉包装纸
e.g. Before eating the chocolate, he peeled off the shiny silver wrapper.
e.g. Many snack wrappers are made of non-biodegradable plastic, which harms the environment.
synonym：film (塑料)薄膜
e.g. Food items are often wrapped in a transparent plastic film.
wrap v. 用…包;用…裹；
搭配：wrap…in paper / plastic 用纸/塑料包裹
e.g. Many products are wrapped in plastic, which contributes to environmental pollution.
e.g. The gifts were beautifully wrapped in colorful paper.
